Red Lands Roses was established in 1996 in Ruiru. The altitude of 2000m and the proximity to the equator are ideal conditions for the cultivation of cut roses. We specialise in growing and exporting T-Hybrid roses, garden roses and spray roses of the highest quality in a range of over 100 varieties. Red Lands Roses employs over 500 persons and caters for their welfare in form of transport (all employees receive a bicycle), school fees for employees’ children, medical cover for employees and employees’ children and spouse, pension scheme. Red Lands Roses Ltd has built a day care centre which provides services 365 days a year 24 hours if necessary, to employees’ and community’s children from 3 months to 5 years. It has also built a wetland to provide for biological purification of its waste water. It is continuously planting trees to preserve the environment.

Red Lands Roses Ltd has developed a unique hand roses grading system which allows grading extra quality product and first grade product. Hand made bunches are bare coded and the product has a full traceability. Orders can be placed in any standard of bunches, mono colour or mixed boxes.

Our roses are grown in 27 hectares of greenhouses on a 100% hydroponic system with full recycling of water, preventing rejects of phosphates and nitrates in ground water. Red Lands Roses is internationally recognised for its green horticulture that respects people and the environment. « Green » labels have been awarded by several organisations such as FLO-Max Havelaar (Fair Trade Labelling Organisations International), MPS-A (Highest grade for environment care), KFC (Kenya Flower Council), FFP (Fair Flowers Fair Plants, label for the efficiency of the tracking system), GLOBAL-GAP (Good Agricultural Practice). These organisations perform audits regularly and Red Lands Roses keeps implementing the best practices for a better world. Red Lands Roses is certified to export to Australia and Japan.
